About the Mini Access Kit
This set allows one to use a very small needle to place a standard size guide wire in small arteries or veins. The mini access kit consists of a 21 gauge needle, 018" floppy tipped guide wire and two piece dilator. The set allows one to use either the 21 gauge needle or a 22 gauge iv catheter to access an artery or vein. The wire is placed through the access needle and the dilator is placed over the wire. The guide wire and inner and inner portion of the dilator are removed leaving the outer part of the dilator behind. An 035" guide wire can then be placed through the dilator.
